Alltruck drives growth with four new graduates joining its East Midlands graduate scheme

Alltruck plc, a leading contract hire and truck rental company, is helping four graduates to flourish through its 2018 graduate scheme.

The business, which has its headquarters in Croft in south west Leicestershire, has bolstered its team with new talent following previous success in recruiting graduates who have gone on to successfully secure senior positions within Alltruck plc.

Lauren Wood, who studied Accounting & Finance at Sheffield Hallam University, joined Alltruck in July 2018 as a Graduate Management Trainee. In this role, Lauren will work within Alltruck’s rental team as part of its operations cohort.

Commenting on her appointment, Lauren said:

“I was attracted to Alltruck due to its friendly and progressive culture, as well as its excellent reputation for providing high quality customer service.

“I look forward to supporting future developments and process improvements within the company.”

Training and Development

Digital Marketing Executive, Kieran Matthews, studied Journalism at Nottingham Trent University before completing a master’s degree in Digital Marketing.

After working at NTU, he joined Alltruck’s Nottingham depot in June 2018 to manage the website and social media platforms for Alltruck and Alltruck2 – the business’ sister company dealing in used commercial vehicles.

Kieran said:

“Alltruck’s focus on training and development has already allowed me to grow with the role, offering the ideal environment for a graduate wishing to refine their skills.

“By optimising our online offering, I hope to raise Alltruck’s profile and promote its specialism in building strong relationships with its customers, as well as developing our digital inbound marketing.”

Graduate Scheme

Fiona studied Business at the University of Liverpool and completed a placement year at Danone Waters in the supply chain department.

In her new role, Fiona will analyse management accounts, conduct budgeting and forecasting, provide KPIs to help support Alltruck’s departments and provide month-end support.

Fiona said:

“What initially attracted me to Alltruck’s Finance Graduate scheme was its focus on facilitating career progression and autonomy in the role.

“I found their recruitment process to be a really positive experience which reflected their key values and I instantly felt welcome upon joining the business.”

Mechanical Engineering

Robin Gerrard joined Alltruck in April 2018 as a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer after studying MEng Computer Aided Mechanical Engineering at Glasgow Caledonian University and spending a year working and travelling across Canada.

He is based at Alltruck’s Loughborough depot and uses CAD to manage and design drawings and models, as well as supervising the accident repair aspect of the business and organising the Certificates of Conformity required for vehicle standards.

Robin commented:

“I am thoroughly enjoying my role at Alltruck as it is allowing me to develop in an area of engineering that has always appealed to me – design.

“The idea of seeing a project through from the initial planning stages to final production is really exciting to me and I look forward to helping ideas come to life in future projects.”

Employing Graduates

Paul Robinson, Managing Director of Alltruck plc, said: “We care passionately about employing and nurturing the best talent because those people will deliver the best service to our customers.

“We are delighted to have welcomed these new graduates to Alltruck’s graduate scheme this year and pride ourselves on creating an environment where people can flourish and develop their careers.

“One of our previous finance graduates, Dan Hillier, has recently been promoted to Senior Finance Business Partner and our Head of Asset Management, Josh Robinson, started his career at Alltruck as a Gratuate Marketing Executive.

“Our class of 2018 graduates have joined Alltruck at a time of growth and are already helping us to progress by injecting fresh, innovative ideas into the business as we focus on achieving our vision for 2020 and beyond.”
