The Challenge

The Vehicle Movements Coordinator role sits at the heart of everything we do here at Alltruck. Your role will be to manage multiple vehicle movements daily whilst providing the best possible customer experience to our clients and colleagues (Alltruckers) alike. Our yard at Loughborough is a hive of activity. We have our own driving team returning, collecting MOTs, and delivering rental on and off hires whilst also covering the delivery of any replacement vehicles to our customers. On top of this, we have companies bringing trucks in for servicing, MOTs, repairs, and maintenance work.

We hold the rental fleet at our rental division in Leicester currently used for spot rental, mid to long-term rental and replacement vehicles for our contract hire vehicles and truck rental fleet. Over 1,000 vehicles and 40 trailers are being managed daily. You will be working closely with our MOT Coordinator to achieve our monthly MOT target. The final chapter is to manage our own driving team daily.

The challenge is to ensure that the Loughborough yard is kept clean, tidy, safe and most of all productive. Ensuring that all customers requiring a vehicle receive it when we say they will, keeping promises to both our internal and external customers. To ensure all vehicles that are on the MOT fleet and breakdown fleet are at a high standard of cleanliness. This is no mean feat – throw in the fact that some of the fleet is held offsite makes it even more of a challenge!

Building your relationships internally and externally across our customer base is imperative and as a result, we are looking for a self-motivated friendly individual whose values mirror that of our own – Passion, Proactive, Progressive, and Committed.


To succeed, you will need:

  • Previous experience working as a Transport Planner.
  • The ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Excellent relationship skills with colleagues & customers.
  • Experience in driving/transport. Knowledge of legislation and requirements on the driving team. This is to help manage and support the driving fraternity.
  • Experience in route planning within the UK.
  • To embrace Alltruck’s ‘can do’ culture, taking responsibility and ownership.
  • A fantastic geographical knowledge & an understanding of the motorway networks.
  • Experience in managing a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and email systems.
  • Leadership and organisational abilities.
  • Full UK driving licence.


You’ll really hit the ground running if you have:

  • People management experience.
  • The ability to problem-solve and look to understand the why.


This is what you can expect within the role:

  • To be proactive in negotiating a bespoke solution to each rental request – seek first to understand the customer requirements and provide a solution that meets those requirements without sacrificing Alltruck’s priorities of profit margin and company resources.
  • Negotiate with suppliers for third-party resources where required e.g., Agency drivers. Ensure the costs are closely controlled and purchase invoices are processed promptly.
  • To effectively manage the “driver checkers” team in a positive, proactive way, encourage a ‘can do’ attitude, and ensure all aspects of HGV driving legislation are recorded and adhered to.
  • To manage the movements of all vehicles to and from our customers and plan driver resources effectively to minimise the need to use third-party agencies.
  • Effectively liaise with customers by telephone and deal with visiting customers and/or their drivers and representatives.
  • Ensure all MOT ringfence vehicles are in a ready-to-rent condition, with responsibility to ensure that evidence of vehicle compliancy, are available before every hire.
  • Work closely with our MOT Coordinator to ensure we achieve our pre-planned monthly MOT schedule.
  • Liaise with the fleet department and the workshop to plan vehicle movements for maintenance both scheduled and unscheduled.

Additional details:

This is a full-time, permanent role.

The working hours are Monday to Friday 6:00am to 4:00pm, inclusive of a 1-hour lunch break (45 hours per week).

Participation would be required in the rota systems for Saturdays.
